MICHELLE MCCOOL was born on Januray 25, 1981. She was a softball player during her high school days. Michelle was also a seventh grade teacher in Palatka, Florida and received her Master's Degree in Educational Leadership from Florida State University. Michelle McCool debuted in World Wrestline Entertainment or WWE in the 2004 WWE Diva Search. Unfortunately, Michelle was the fourth woman to be eliminated in the said competition. Despite the loss, Michelle McCool was still drafted by WWE for a three year contract. Michelle was then introduced in Smackdown! as a fan favorite and participated in a number of "Best Body" competitions. Her first actual wrestling match was shen Michelle teamed-up with Big Show and defeated Dawn Marie and Rene Dupree. Michelle then had some feuds with different WWE Divas such as Dawn Marie, Melina and others. Her fight with Melina served as her last appearance in 2006 as Michelle was sidelined and sent to WWE's developmental facility Deep South Wrestling. Opting to go back to WWE, Michelle trained in Ohio Valley Wrestling. When she came back to Smackdown!, Michelle sported a "sexy teacher" gimmick depicting her real life job before entering professional wrestling. She aligned herself with Kristal Marshall and had a feud with Jillian Hall and Ashley Massaro, who were then the fan favorites. Michelle McCool won her first singles match against Jillian Hall by illegaly using the ropes as levearage. On the later part of 2007, Michelle was hospitalized with an enlarged kidney, broken strnum and electrolyte imbalance which sidelined her from the ring for a long time. On the March 28, 2007 edition of Raw, Michelle McCool won the "Memorial Bikini Beach Splash Battle Royal" by eliminating Melina. McCool then competed in a seires of contests against Victoria, Eve Torres, Maryse and Cherry to determine Smackdown!'s top Diva and Michelle came on top of the competition. Michelle McCool won the second "Golden Dreams" match and earned to right to challenge Natalya to the first WWE Divas Champion. Michelle won the match and became the first WWE Divas Champion during The Great American Bash. She successfully defended her belt against Maryse and Maria. Michelle however lost the title to Maryse in the December 26 episode of Smackdown! with Maria as the special referee. She continued her campaign until she defeated Gail Kim and became the number one contender for the Women's Championship. At The Bash, Michelle McCool defeated Melina in their championship match and Michelle became the first diva to ever win the WWE Divas Champion and Women's Championship. |

Layla El is the current Divas Champion and the last recognized Women's Champion in WWE history. She is young, beautiful, charismatic and talented. As a member of the dominant female duo "Lay-Cool" alongside Michelle McCool , she literally ruled the Divas landscape between 2009 and 2011, more or less. My last blog featured the 10 best rivalries of all-time in the Divas division. Which of course means beginning in 1998-present. Moolah, Madusa, and so forth were not considered or were called Divas during their time.
